Caracalla IV Dimensione
The Caracalla Fourth Dimension project, promoted in collaboration with the Special Superintendency of Rome, the Baths of Caracalla have become the first Italian archaeological site to be entirely accessible in 3D.
Thanks to the use of virtual reality we can now offer our visitors the possibility to visit the Baths through a unique perspective, rediscovering how it would have looked when they were founded in 216 A.D. The technology is based on a visor that holds a smartphone loaded with specific software: with simple commands managed by a single button, the device, which also features geo-location technology, reproduces the place where the visitor is standing through a unique, immersive perspective encompassing the entire field of vision. This interactive ten-stage visit, six of which are delivered through virtual reality, offers a philological reconstruction of the sites thanks to the intelligent and innovative use of technology.
